Connection

Limited to 4 mother-daughter pairs. Reserve quickly!

Finding Your Stride is a curated experience for mothers and their daughters to loosen the reins on old patterns and beliefs that are causing disruption in the relationship and spur lasting and positive change.

You’ll embark on this journey with horses at your side, working with you to help connect and understand your relationships.

The mother-daughter relationship is magical, complex, sometimes messy, profoundly powerful, and has the potential to be deeply transformative. There’s really no other relationship quite like this one. Love, for many, is still at the center of the bond, but it’s often matched with friction as we get older. It’s not unusual for mother-daughter relationships to feel the strain as both parties navigate from a parent /child relationship to being two independent adults. The complexity of these relationships makes it difficult to untangle our feelings about who the other one is as their own individual person.

If you are a mother or daughter who has lost their connection with the other and is having a difficult time communicating your needs in order to find your way back to a healthier relationship, this retreat is for you!

Designed to support your needs and push you a little out of your comfort zone, this retreat invites mothers and daughters to get to the core of your issues and better understand yourselves in order to show up for each other in a more authentic, loving, and connected way.

Through immersive gestalt coaching sessions with the horses, old wounds, patterns, and belief systems will be explored, challenged, and shifted. You will learn how to move through your feelings and sit in a safe space where you will be fully heard, seen, and guided back to your truest, most authentic self.

Why horse-assisted coaching works

The only language horses speak is the truth. As prey animals, they have a heightened awareness to energy and can sense when you are being honest with yourself, where in your body you hold stories that are incomplete, and where you are holding suppressed pain that is aching to be explored, expressed, and held with love.

They don’t judge. They listen with open hearts to help you restore the connection to your true self and your connection to others.

You’ll share moments with the horses that change the way you see yourself and the deeply connected relationship that is possible between you and your mother or daughter.

Alli Caraveo

Equine Gestalt Coach, Restorative Strides

Horses have always been present in Alli’s life, holding space for her as she walked through life changes, abusive relationships, loss of her father to drugs and eventually suicide, as well as the bumps and bruises that come from living. Horses have never told her to be less than or more than she was in the moment. So when she came across the Touched by a Horse™ program, she knew she had found her calling. Horses had seen into her soul and helped her to look deeper within herself. Alli is honored to partner with rescue horses as they help humans set down their pain to be carried away by the wind on their path to wholeness.

Alli enjoys working with women of all ages that have walked through deep disappointments. When a disappointment has rocked a woman to her core and knocked her off course, it can be hard to find the way back. She could be living in a shell but look like everything is ok. She could be raising kids and going through the motions but has never actually slowed down to ask herself what her favorite color actually is. Perhaps, that dream of landing that job never came to fruition because life got in the way. These disappointments color a woman’s view of herself and her life. As you step into a session with Alli and her horses, you will be able to let down the walls and explore what your soul truly craves.

Haley Sevalstad

Equine Gestalt Coach, Rising Free Retreats

After spending 10+ years in the heart of Denver, Colorado, inspiring solutions for some of the world’s most iconic brands, Haley hung up her corporate shoes, slipped on her cowgirl boots, and got back to her roots in more ways than one. As an Equine Gestaltist, she is trained in the core competencies of trauma-informed care, gestalt principles, equine knowledge, human dynamics, somatic insight, co-active coaching, workshop facilitation, systems theory, chakra energy fields, and much more. Her thoughtful approach and intuitive nature, paired with the loving guidance of her horse partners, creates an incredible haven for lasting change.

Trained and Certified in the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® developed by Melisa Pearce, her mission is to help women feel empowered, live freely and authentically, thrive in relationships with themselves and others, experience deep healing and change, and uncover truth and purpose. She truly believes we were all born whole, fully aligned, and embodied in our truth and joy. And although life happens and we may lose our joy, we can always return home to ourselves. We don’t have to be stuck in your pain forever. That’s the silver lining of life in general she feels. There is going to be a break in the clouds and her vision is that Rising Free Retreats can be that source of opening and hope someone has been searching for.

Having both come from long lineages of women who’ve had complicated relationships with their mothers and daughters, Alli and Haley are the perfect duo to pair together to help other women break the cycle for good.

The ranch

Retreats at Restorative Strides are a rustic step back in time. The old granary from 1940 has been turned into a common area for visitors. The horse paddocks have antique wheels decorating them. Walk around and see the other old buildings from the late 1800s. Enjoy imagining what it was like to be a homesteader as you look at the sweeping views. Breathe in and enjoy the sound of the wind, the birds chirping and the horses eating. You will be amazed as you look up at night to see the thousands of stars waiting to hold all of your wishes and all of your dreams.

As you drive to the property, you will feel all stress start to melt away. Enjoy the wide-open spaces, abundant wildlife, and towering mountains in the distance. Step back in time and enjoy the demand of being in the present moment.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Retreat goers will be sharing common sleep spaces. We have bunks in the Granary that will sleep up to 7 as well as a glamping tent with two single beds . If you need the privacy of your own space while at your retreat, please reach out and let us know when signing up. We have the capability to accommodate you for an extra fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

We offer the option for the retreat to be paid for in installment plans, allowing you to spread out your retreat payments in 3 easy installments.

The first of three payments is due immediately upon booking – this is your non-refundable deposit. Once this is paid, you’ll be responsible for 2 monthly payments, which will be automatically withdrawn on June 1, 2022 and July 1, 2022.

We only offer payment plans when the retreat is more than 60 days away. We require payments to be made in full less than 60 days before the retreat start date.

If you cancel your reservation, please note your deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel between 30-90 days prior to the retreat start date, 50% of the retreat price will be forfeited. And if you cancel less than 30 days prior to the retreat start date, 100% of the retreat price will be forfeited.

Upon arriving to the ranch, we have an “assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability” relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19.

We will not be enforcing COVID policies for this retreat, as we feel that each person who is choosing to be vaccinated will be by this time. We trust that each individual will continue with preventative practices such as washing hands as necessary or getting tested prior to arrival at the ranch if that is what creates comfort for them.

Given the unpredictability of current global events, we highly recommend that you purchase flight insurance through the airline when you book your airfare AND travel/trip cancellation insurance to cover your retreat investment. Insurance is not offered through Restorative Strides or Rising Free Retreats, but we do recommend AIG Travel Guard insurance. AIG Travel Guard provides a variety of insurance packages for you to choose from. CLICK HERE to learn more.

The ranch is western casual every day all day long – blue jeans, warm layers and cowgirl boots are a must. The weather is varied in Central Montana and depending on the time of year. We will be outside for most of our retreat as weather allows. A good hat and sunscreen are a must. A more detailed list of packing suggestions will be sent to you in your welcome packet after registration.

August in Montana tends to be one of the warmest months, however in the last few years it’s been a bit unpredictable. The days can range from a high of 70-90, sometimes creeping up into the 100’s. The evenings are much cooler dropping down into the 40’s & 50’s.
